Why I Made This

After making some bark for Valentine’s Day, I knew that I wanted to make something similar for Easter. And when I saw a double-layered version on Sally’s Baking Blog, I knew I had to try it out for myself. This Easter Jelly Bean Bark does not disappoint. I took inspiration from Sally’s recipe and used allergy-friendly ingredients. Oh my, this is seriously irresistible bark and I just adore the different textures from all of the elements that are included.

Why You Need to Make This

This jelly bean bark is a perfect choice for a quick Easter as it’s easy to make with just a few simple ingredients. Plus, since it’s made with allergy-friendly ingredients, you can feel good about sharing it with friends and family members who may have dietary restrictions. So why not try this recipe and bring some Easter cheer to your table?

Ingredients and Substitutions

This is a dairy free and eggless recipe. Check out the FAQ for more recipe tips.

Bowls of white chocolate and milk chocolate chips, sprinkles and pastel coloured jelly beans to make easter jelly bean bark.

Chocolate Chips: this recipe uses equal quantities of white and milk vegan chocolate chips. You could also sub with cut-up chocolate bars if you prefer. Use dairy chocolate if you are not dairy intolerant or vegan.

Jelly Beans: how cute are these pastel-coloured Easter jelly beans? Perfect for decorating the bark.

Sprinkles: I just adore sprinkles on homemade bark and these ones are just perfect for Easter and Spring with the little butterfly sprinkles. If you are dairy free or vegan, ensure to check the ingredients of the sprinkles as many contain dairy.

How to Make Easter Jelly Bean Bark

Line a baking pan with a Teflon sheet (parchment paper or silicon will also work). No need to spray the pan. Melt the milk chocolate chips in a microwavable jug, checking and stirring at 20-second intervals until fully melted. Mine took 1 min 40 seconds.

Pour the chocolate on the lined baking pan and spread out as thinly as desired into a rectangular shape.

Set in the fridge for 20 minutes then remove from the fridge.

Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwavable jug, checking and stirring at 20-second intervals until fully melted. Mine took 1 minute. Spread out on top of the set chocolate and immediately add the jelly beans and sprinkles.

Freshly melted white chocolate on top of set milk chocolate. Sprinkles and jelly beans have been added on top.

Allow to set in the fridge for 20 minutes then break up into bite-sized pieces. It honestly doesn’t get any easier than that to make a fun treat for Easter!

Storage

Store this bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. I mean, if you can resist eating it before then! No need to refrigerate unless you live in a very warm or humid climate.

Common Questions

How much bark does this recipe make?

It really depends on how many pieces you break it up into. This recipe contains approx 500g of chocolate and should make at least 12 generous pieces.

How should I store the bark?

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. There is no need to refrigerate the bark once it has set unless you live in a humid climate.

My chocolate isn’t melting very easily – what can I do?

If your chocolate is not melting smoothly, stir in a small amount of coconut oil or vegetable shortening and continue to melt until smooth.聽

I want to gift this bark for Easter. How should I package it?

Small boxes or cellophane bags are the perfect way to package several pieces of bark for gifting. You should be able to find these in a craft store or dollar store. I recommend adding a seasonal bow and tag to finish the gift off.

Check out my fun webstory for this recipe for a quick overview of how easy this bark is to make!
